Chang Jiang: Reviews & Ratings

The Chinese food here is spot on and is the best Chinese food around. The rice is tender, fluffed, and cooked to perfection! Even the entrées have just the right amount of sauce. Other Chinese restaurants load up on sauces that are oily and drench the entire meal. I highly recommend Chang Jiang! The only downside and criticism from giving this place a 5-Star rating is the lack of electronic money use(AKA Credit Card or digital pay). You have to pay everything in cash, which is ridiculous, even though there is an ATM in the store that I'm reluctant to use. It's 2021 going on 2022. They need to get with the program of accepting card. More and more patrons are ditching paper money and converting to paperless payment(given this viral plague we are in). Even for delivery it's all cash. Great food, however please get up to date with credit cards. You'll get more business, given I am the first person to place this restaurant on YELP to promote their great food and business.

Welcome to Chang Jiang, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Chester, Pennsylvania, at 1500 W 9th St. Known for its authentic Chinese cuisine, Chang Jiang has garnered a reputation for delivering delectable dishes that tickle the taste buds and warm the soul.

This unclaimed Chinese establishment showcases a diverse menu that caters to every palate. The appetizers alone include delightful options like the Cheese Steak Roll for just $1.50, and the variety of egg rolls—Shrimp and Pizza Egg Rolls—each priced around $1.30, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy as a starter.

The soup selections provide comfort and flavor, with offerings such as the classic Wonton Soup ($1.35) and the robust Seafood Soup (a generous $4.95) that promises to be a warm embrace in a bowl. And for those looking for something more substantial, the chef's specialties shine brightly, with dishes like the Dragon and Phoenix ($8.75) and the indulgent Seafood Delight ($9.75) that feature the freshest combinations to delight your senses.

As a food reviewer who prides themselves on finding culinary masterpieces, I can truly say that Chang Jiang stands out in a crowded market. The rave reviews echo my sentiments, particularly from frequent visitor Von Michael T., who raved about the quality and finesse in their dishes. He notes, "The rice is tender, fluffed, and cooked to perfection!" In less experienced hands, this could be overlooked, but Chang Jiang nails it, along with the perfectly balanced sauces that accompany their entrées.

However, it’s essential to address a notable downside mentioned by patrons. Currently, Chang Jiang operates as a cash-only establishment, which can be a limitation in today's digital age. While they do have an ATM on-site, it would be beneficial for the restaurant to adapt to the trends of cashless payments. This small adjustment could enhance the dining experience and encourage more guests to indulge in their flavors.

In conclusion, if you are in the Chester area and craving a truly exceptional Chinese meal, look no further than Chang Jiang. With a satisfying menu crafted from quality ingredients, it promises an experience marked by delicious flavors and heartfelt dishes. Just remember to bring cash—or prepare for a quick trip to the ATM!
